QHY5III174M/C uses a 1/1.2-inch, 2.3 Megapixel, Sony Exmore IMX174 CMOS sensor with global shutter. Available in both monochrome and color. The large sensor size is a great choice for solar imaging and the large pixel size and high QE makes it excellent for deep-sky imaging as well. Typical of all models in the QHY5III Series, this camera produces a high frame rate with the USB 3.0 interface, 138 frames per second at full resolution, up to 490 FPS at selected ROI.

This is the monochrome version.

When the pixels of a guide camera becomes small and QE becomes high, you may not need a big guide scope. Smaller pixels can detect the guide error in a shorter focal length. When the focal length is reduced, the FOV becomes larger, so it is easier to find bright guide stars.

QHYCCD’s Mini GuideScope is based on just this idea. The Mini GuideScope is a 30mm f/4.3 (130mm FL) ultra-small telescope. It has no complex focal adjust system. Just rotate the front of the OTA and it provides fine focal adjustment. Once focus is achieved, the tube can be locked into position and there is not need to focus again unless the system is moved.

The Mini GuideScope provides pin-point star images as sharp as any lens in the industry.
