This custom made tool allows the user to remove the retaining ring on the worm gears of the Orion Atlas, SkyWatcher EQ-6 and similar mounts.
Note: If the retaining ring as been installed with thread lock then it may also be necessary to apply heat to the area of the retaining ring to loosen the thread lock.
