Custom made by Geoptik for 10Micron for the GM1000 and BM100L mounts, this is a fine wooden tripod, with a finely CNC machined and anodized aluminum base. The legs are made of “first choice” beech wood”, treated for outdoor use. This material guarantee excellent stability and vibration damping, also in case of heavy loads. The height of the tripod can range from 950 mm to 1100 mm (37.4” to 43.3 “) through extendable anodized aluminum extensions. The extension’s tips are reversible, offering the possibility of a round rubber or a sharp metal tip. The triangle-shaped accessory tray, made in laminated beech, offers several holes to accommodate 31.8 and 50.8mm eyepieces. 10Micron upholstered Cordura transport-bag. The tripod weighs 12 kg (26.4 lbs.).

This new mount is based on the mechanics and electronics of the GM1000 HPS and offers an alt-azimuth configuration. The AZ1000 HPS is a very versatile, light and transportable mount designed for scientific activities such as visual and video astronomy, satellite tracking, photometric and astrometric measurements. Due to its alt-azimuth design, this special mount isn’t suitable for long-exposure astrophotography.

The mount is supplied with a short counterweight bar; it’s not necessary to exactly counterbalance the weight of the telescope: using counterweights for about 50% of your payload you will provide a sufficiently stable configuration.

Most of the GM1000HPS accessories are compatible with the new AZ1000 HPS.

The 10Micron AZ1000HPS basic package includes:
